calendar detail (Calendar)

Aethon Prime keeps its own reckoning, and it is not Earth's.

    A year is 13 months. A month is 7 weeks of 6 days — 42 days to a month,
546 to a year. There is no leap anything; the shape does not drift.

    The months, in order:

       1 Kindling 8 Reaping
       2 Thawrise 9 Goldwane
       3 Seedwake 10 Emberfall
       4 Greening 11 Rimewatch
       5 Longlight 12 Deepfrost
       6 Highsun 13 the Guttering
       7 the Fallowmoot

    The days of a week:

       1 the Hearth
       2 the Stone
       3 the Wick
       4 the Loom
       5 the Ash
       6 the Vigil

The year turns out of the Guttering and into Kindling. The Sundering —
the night the surface was taken and the dungeon opened — fell on the
38th of the Month of the Guttering, 1492, four days short of a year the
people who lived here never reached.

The clock runs at half real time: one game hour is two real hours, so a
full day and night is two real days and a game week is twelve. Nothing
you do is on that clock — it is the world's, not yours.

time Aliases: date. The date and hour as Aethon Prime
reads them, above the server's own uptime.

Not to be confused with the 'Day N' on your box receipts and
achievement stamps: that one counts YOUR days since your first descent
and has nothing to do with the date above. Nor with the season number —
Borant counts consumed worlds; 1492 is this world's own year.
